Pompey have boosted their attacking options with the loan signing of Caolan Lavery.

The Sheffield Wednesday youngster this morning trained with the Blues ahead of finalising a three-month temporary switch.

Aged 22, the Northern Ireland under-21 international striker has twice turned out for the Owls in the Capital One Cup this season.

He also featured under Paul Cook at Chesterfield in League One last season, scoring three goals in eight matches.

Now he will rival Matt Tubbs for a spot, with Jayden Stockley currently out with an ankle problem.
