Pompey face an anxious wait over Michael Doyle ahead of the Christmas period.
The Pompey skipper suffered an awkward fall in the early stages of the 2-1 win at Northampton and is now a doubt for the Boxing Day trip to Leyton Orient, even though he played on for the rest of the match at Sixfields and has refused to rule himself out of the festive programme.
Boss Paul Cook revealed the Irishman had been sent for a scan on his knee, which has shown some damage.
Cook said: ‘Michael has got a little problem with his knee at the minute.
‘We had it scanned and there is a little problem but we will look at that over the next day or two and decide the best pathway.’
