The 36-year-old is today poised to join on a season-long loan, ending Paul Cook’s lengthy search for a new stopper.

Forde is a Republic of Ireland international who has made 339 appearances for Millwall since an August 2008 debut.

He was last season dislodged as the regular keeper at The Den by former Spurs player Jordan Archer, although still made 10 outings for the League One club.

Cook has spent the summer searching for an experienced keeper to rival Paul Jones and teenager Alex Bass for a first-team spot.
