A TRIO of Pompey players have been named in the EFL League Two team of the year.
David Forde, Enda Stevens and Christian Burgess have all been selected in the division’s top 11.
The Blues and Doncaster both have three players in the team with Plymouth and Blackpool contributing two. Stevenage’s Matt Godden has also been picked.
An impressive defensive season which has seen Paul Cook’s side keep 18 clean sheets has much to do with the recognition.
Forde has played a major role in that following his arrival on loan from Millwall.
Stevens has once again been a virtual ever-present with the left-back a strong and consistent presence.
And it’s been a similar story for Burgess, who has started every league game and impressed with his quality.
The team of the year was compiled as part of the EFL awards and are based on votes submitted by a regional media representative of each of the 72 clubs.
