Tom Naylor is set to return to Kenny Jackett’s starting line-up for the visit of Southend.

The midfielder missed last Sunday’s FA Cup win at Rochdale with a slight groin problem.

He’s recovered from that setback, though.

Joe Mason (groin) made his comeback off the bench against Arsenal under-21s in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday.

The Wolves loanee, above, will be among the substitutes again.

Dion Donohue (hamstring) is back training with the first team but the game comes too soon.

David Wheeler (back and hamstring) remains sidelined for up to three weeks.

Meanwhile, Southend are hopeful striker Simon Cox will be fit in time to face Pompey.

The former Reading, Forest and West Brom front man missed this week’s  Checkatrade Trophy win over Luton with a knee injury.

But Chris Powell should have Cox available for selection.

Attacker Harry Bunn, who came through the ranks at Manchester City, is also expected to recover from a groin injury.

However, the Shrimpers have had Ben Coker, Tom Hopper, Rob Kiernan, Lewis Guard and Harry Kyprianou all ruled out for the season.
