Have your say

Gaffer for a day Rob Phillips previews tonight’s Pompey v Stevenage game.

Stevenage is another team we should be putting away down here at Fratton Park.

We have seen a few of them already this season sitting back looking to take a draw home, but we have to win this one.

Pompey should be winning home games – and that also includes Mansfield’s forthcoming visit on Saturday.

We are not used to getting victories away from Fratton, so this season appears to be a role reversal.

Admittedly, it will be good seeing Teddy Sheringham back here tonight, but he won’t be taking anything back with him!

Looking at selection, I would keep the side similar to the one which won at Newport County at the weekend, although would prefer two up front.

That 4-2-3-1 system is not working at home, Matt Tubbs needs a partner so let’s put Conor Chaplin up there with him. I don’t know too much about Caolan Lavery at this moment in time.

We have struggled a bit at home so let’s give Tubbs some help up there.

I don’t know whether we are frightened playing at Fratton Park, but we just don’t seem to be playing at full potential. We are struggling against teams we should be winning against.

To allow Chaplin to play up front, I would drop Kal Naismith from midfield, keeping Michael Doyle, Gary Roberts and Adam Barton in there.

They have all been pretty consistent this season as a team, whereas I have not seen a lot of Naismith.

It’s also good to see Adam Webster getting a run.

Ever since coming into a struggling team at the end of last season, he has done well.

Hopefully, he will keep his place – you are never surprised with what Paul Cook decides to do! He obviously knows his stuff.
