Rotherham 1-0 Pompey: they said what?

Pompey have withdrawn their contract offers to both Michael Brown and Richard Hughes.

The duo were sidelined by a clause in their contract that entitled them to another deal at a salary the club cannot afford if they played a certain number of games.

Pompey were not prepared to pay and recent attempts to renegotiate new contracts at drastically-reduced wages have not been successful.

Neither player agreed to the terms on offer and the club has now withdrawn the contract offers, which makes it almost certain that both will now leave Fratton Park during the transfer window.
