Following their sponsorship of the men's team that was announced back in May, the university will be extending the partnership, with their logo appearing on the front of the women's team shirts.

This deal will also see the institution's logo used across Pompey Women's social media channels, as well as on signage at their home ground, Baffins Milton Rovers' PMC Stadium.

Prior to this announcement, both parties agreed to work with each other to establish a framework in which a partnership can be developed to cover recruitment, outreach, research projects and much more.

Pompey chairman, Michael Eisner, said: '˜We are so pleased that the University of Portsmouth have continued their great support of football on this island south coast city, as they have become the main sponsor to our women's team.

'˜This union further enhances the partnership and marks a positive step in helping promote women's football within the city and beyond.

'˜We are looking forward to hopefully seeing some of the current group of students play for Pompey Women and represent both the club and University.'

'˜It not only encourages and inspires women to play the sport they love, but helps raise aspirations, break down social barriers and improve the life-chances of local young people.

'˜We're delighted that the university has such a strong relationship with both the women's and men's first teams.'

This partnership between the university and Pompey Women will provide a number of collaborative research opportunities, use of facilities and discounted tickets for students on occasions.'
