Pompey won’t face further league points loss

Southend 3-1 Pompey: They said what?

Have your say

POMPEY will not have a further points penalty imposed by the Football League if the club starts the new season in administration.

The Blues are due to kick off their League One campaign against Bournemouth on Saturday with the club’s ownership still up in the air.

Football League regulations state there is no points penalty for clubs starting a new season in administration.

Pompey will be deducted 10 points once new owners are in place under the rules of the Football League’s membership offer.

But this means the club will start on a level playing field at the weekend unless the ownership situation is resolved.
