They were rippled by a bevy of players whose names are etched into Pompey folklore

The likes of Michael Doyle, Kyle Bennett, Gary Roberts, Kal Naismith, Conor Chaplin and Carl Baker all hit the back of the net at Fratton Park during the 2016-17 League Two title-winning season.

Christian Burgess, Matt Clarke, Jamal Lowe, Gareth Evans and Danny Rose were among others to score at PO4 during that memorable campaign under Paul Cook.

And now Blues fans can get hold of a piece of unbelievable memorabilia from that famous season.

Both goal nets used at the Fratton End and Milton End are available to any fan who wants them – and free of charge.

On Twitter, Pompey’s groundsman (@grasspfc) revealed the pair are up for grabs to whoever wishes to claim them.

Following the League Two title campaign, the nets were used on goals at Pompey’s Roko training base.

Now they’re out of use and heading for landfill as they had 'perished' – unless a member of the Fratton faithful opts to add them to their Blues collection.
