The Blues sit second in the table but a win against Steve Evans' leaders would move them to the summit.

It will be a tough match for Kenny Jackett's men against a free-flowing, potent Posh side.

Pompey's defence face a Peterborough attack made up of current League One joint-top scorers Matt Godden and Jason Cummings (both six), as well as Siriki Dembele (three).

The trio have notched a combined 15 goals in seven league games to date.

On portsmouth.co.uk and Facebook page Portsmouth FC '“ The News, the Fratton faithful have been giving their predictions on the game.

Pete Graham feels Pompey can clinch a win.

He said: '˜0-2 smash-and-grab performance.'

Others are a bit more cautious, though.

Richard O'Dare wants Pompey to go into half-time level and try to nick a goal in the second period.

He said: '˜I think the first 20 minutes will be a Posh onslaught.

'˜If we can get to half time level, we may get a draw or even nick a win in the second half.'

Richie Barnes feels Kenny Jackett's tactics will be key.

'˜KJ needs to deploy his troops wisely,' said Barnes.

'˜If so, it should be enough to at least get a draw.'

David Leng predicts a high-scoring match at London Road.

'˜It'll be a tough performance so I reckon a 2-2 draw,' he said.

'˜Both teams are capable of scoring but sometimes can make mistakes.

'˜Peterborough have conceded more than us, but have scored more.'

Some Blues supporters envisage a more low-key affair, however.

Abby Hyslop said: '˜They are scoring for fun and we have on-fire Ronan Curtis back, so - Murphy's law - it'll be 0-0.'

John Ellerton worries Pompey rely on top goalscorer Ronan Curtis, who returns after a call-up to the Republic of Ireland squad, too much.

Ellerton said: '˜No matter how good the player '“ and he is good  '“ you can't be too reliant on one player.'

Tony Wilson is pessimistic and reckons Peterborough's attack will overwhelm the visitors.

'˜Peterborough 3-1 Pompey,' said Wilson.

'˜I think they are a more cohesive attacking team, Pompey are still trying to settle.'
