Match-winner Andre Green toasted his goal which took Pompey into the FA Cup third round and admitted: Luck was on my side.
The Aston Villa loanee’s 90th-minute deflected shot earned the Blues a 1-0 second-round victory at Rochdale.
Green won a free-kick on the edge of the box, with Lee Brown rolling the set-piece to the winger.
The 20-year-old’s right-foot effort took a big deflection before looping into the net.
It earned Kenny Jackett’s side a spot in tomorrow night’s draw and the potential chance of an exciting tie against a Premier League side.
Green was adamant his strike was on target before it ricocheted off a Rochdale man.
And the England under-20 international was delighted to snatch Pompey the win.
‘It was a good feeling to score and I gave Browny the eyes to roll it to me,’ said Green.
‘I’ve tried to get it under the lad’s legs and into the bottom right-hand corner – I think it was going on target.
‘So I am claiming it. But it took a deflection and went in, although I was trying to get it on target obviously.
‘Normally I don’t get the luck like that! But since I’ve come here I have had a bit of luck which is good for me that I’ve got that on my side.
‘But it’s one of those and I’ll take anything.’
