Hal Robson-Kanu’s agent has scotched rumours of a Fratton Park switch.
And former Reading man Ibrahima Sonko will also not be at Pompey next season.
Royals winger Robson-Kanu has been linked with a switch to the south coast as Steve Cotterill’s recruitment drive continues.
The 22-year-old Welsh international is regarded as one of the top young talents outside of the Premier League.
Out of contract this summer, he is currently negotiating a new deal at the Madejski.
And, despite the speculation, his agent Gary Saunders has insisted he expects the youngster to pen a fresh deal with Brian McDermott’s side.
He said: ‘The speculation has not been put out by me, it’s the first I have heard about it.
‘At this moment in time Hal is a Reading player and is still negotiating with them over extending his contract.
‘He seems to be happy at Reading and has been there for a number of years.
‘The club have approached him about staying even longer and he is speaking to them.
‘I know Portsmouth from last year and this year seems different to me, they seem to be heading in a different direction, which is great for the club.
‘But I’ve heard nothing from them.’
Meanwhile, it has been confirmed Sonko will not be returning to Fratton Park.
Saunders also represents the 30-year-old, who is now a free agent after being released by Stoke at the season’s end.
He added: ‘There has been interest from a few clubs but at this moment in time nothing has been tied up.
‘I can say, though, that there is no interest from Portsmouth at the minute.’
