There were jubilant scenes on the final whistle as the players celebrated with the 1,961 travelling Pompey fans.

Curtis savoured the moment by jumping on the shoulders of keeper Craig MacGillivray '“ and is now determined to keep that feeling going.

He said: '˜The buzz is getting better and better.

'˜Where does it end? I hope it never ends!

'˜I want it to go on until the end of the season when we get promoted.

'˜We will have dips through the season but it's about managing that and then bouncing back.

'˜So far, so good, though. Now it's 11 games unbeaten and eight wins.

'˜There's a good feelgood factor and you could see that at the end.

'˜We're all best mates and there's a lot of talent here.

'˜So now hopefully we can keep this run going for longer.

'˜We want to keep the feelgood factor going now. We want to keep that at the club.

'˜On the training ground we're all arguing and determined to win games.

'˜That's the buzz. We want to win and get this club back to where it belongs.'

Curtis' strike continues a meteoric rise after arriving in League One from League of Ireland side Derry City in the summer.

The 22-year-old feels he's seizing the opportunity he's been afforded.

Curtis added: '˜I always dreamed of this.

'˜I wanted to be a footballer. I'm from a big family and I looked up to my brothers playing.

'˜If I didn't make it, it was because I didn't try hard enough.

'˜But that's six goals and five assists now.

'˜I'm gelling with the lads and enjoying my football.

'˜That's the main thing. I want to enjoy my football, stay confident and work hard for Kenny.

'˜I've come here from Derry, I've been given a chance and I feel I've taken it well.'
