Pompey’s encouraging start to the League One season continued with a 2-1 win over Peterborough United on Saturday.
The Blues are now top of the table after eight games, which have included six wins.
But with little more than a month gone of the season, what are the odds on Pompey lifting the league trophy at the end of the season?
On Friday, before Saturday’s game at Peterborough, Pompey were fourth favourites with most bookmakers – just below Posh and frontrunners Sunderland and Barnsley.
Sky Bet gave odds of 7/1 for Pompey winning League One – but by this morning they had been slashed to 4/1, putting them ahead of Peterborough.

Posh are at 9/1, Barnsley are 3/1 and Sunderland are favourites at 9/4.
While most other bookmakers have Pompey winning the title at 4/1, Bet Victor has odds of 3/1 and Bet365 has 9/2.
Other betting markets
Pompey remain one of the favourites to be promoted from League One, with their odds as low as 5/4 on Sky Bet.
Ronan Curtis is 20/1 to be top goalscorer while Brett Pitman is 33/1.
