Pompey boss weighs up role for returning duo

BOTH fans and players alike are gearing up for what will be an interesting encounter in the first summer friendly at Fratton Park when the Blues face Charlton Athletic on Saturday.

However the stadium may not be as recognisable as expected with a few noticeable changes having occurred over the pre–season.

The most distinctive change has to be the redesign of the Milton End.

In the last few seasons it had been donned the ‘Linvoy Primus Community Stand’ as a tribute to the inter city work that the Pompey legend has been carrying out.

However it now reads ‘Fratton Park, Owned by Pompey fans’.

In addition to this, Industrial Maintenance Services now sponsors the stand. Its logo is adjacent to the hearty slogan which is clearly the focal point of Pompey fans attention.

A new coating of paint is a welcome change to the often forgotten areas of Pompey’s historic complex, embracing the touchline while complimenting the well laid grass on the hallowed turf of Fratton Park.

All in all it seems the Pompey Supporters Trust have set about to make Fratton Park is looking fantastic before the new season kicks off against Oxford United on August 3.
