Gulls boss Johnson told Devon Live: '˜Alex's knee has certainly swelled up a bitÂ and it looks like some sort of medial ligament damage.

'˜He finished the game and managed to carry on kicking, so hopefully it's not too bad, but we need to find out what's gone on in there.'

Bass is not available for Torquay's FA Cup third qualifying round tie atÂ Brightlingsea Regent on Saturday as Pompey don't want him to be cup tied.Â
