The time has come for you to vote for your Pompey player of the month for September.
The Blues continued their impressive start to the League Two season with wins against Barnet (3-1) and Bristol Rovers (2-1) - the latter result sending Paul Cook’s side top of the table.
But defeat in midweek to Exeter (2-1) ensured a proud nine-game unbeaten run came to an end as Pompey closed the month in third position.
September also saw league draws with Accrington (0-0) and Oxford (1-1), while the month began with a youthful Blues side dumped out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy at the Grecians (2-0).
With that in mind, the sports desk have selected a shortlist of four players we would like you to vote from, as follows:
Christian Burgess: The central defender has been an ever-present in the league for the Blues following his arrival from Peterborough. Comfortable on the ball, Burgess continues to impress at the heart of Cook’s defence.
Tough-tackling full-back Davies has been a constant option for Pompey down the flanks and has made the right-back spot his own. Skippered the side against Exeter in midweek in Michael Doyle’s absence.
The Blues youngster has caught the eye in recent times, not least with his match-winning performance against Barnet.
That saw the teenager net twice to bring his goal tally to four for the season.
An impressive display and goal against Barnet saw McGurk lead the line at Oxford and respond with a stunning equaliser. A subsequent ankle injury ruled him out of the Blues’ last two games and he was badly missed against Exeter on Tuesday night.
