As Salisbury boss Steve Claridge prepares to play against his old club Pompey at the age of 51, here's a look at just eight of the greats who played on well beyaond the usual retirement age.

If Claridgee does play in the friendly against Pompey he will match the age of Neil McBain, the league's oldest player who finally hung up his boots at New Brighton just after the Second World War.
