Lee Williamson and Tom Soares were among the new faces at Pompey training today.
Williamson is one of a number of new players Michael Appleton is hoping to sign before the League One opener on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the Blues boss is having a look at 26-year-old Soares with a view to possibly bringing him on board at a later date.
Williamson, 30, recently turned down a new deal at Sheffield United and is a free agent.
Appleton said: ‘I’ll have to have a think about how I use Lee at the weekend, while Tom is one we are having a look at.’
Pompey are hoping to sign a number of new players on month-long deals before Saturday’s Fratton Park game against Bournemouth.
Meanwhile, they are keen to resurrect the move for Reading’s Danish goalkeeper Mikkel Andersen.
