The News has teamed up with Pompey and the Hampshire FA to offer one lucky reader a pair of tickets for the visit of Yeovil to Fratton Park next Saturday (October 3).
The game with the Glovers has been identified as a Respect Fixture by the FA – and their Hampshire counterparts have endorsed the scheme to ensure respect initiatives are fully implemented to promote a safe, fun, enjoyable and friendly environment which adds to the enjoyment of the football experience.
A group of volunteers, along with Hampshire FA employees, meet quarterly as part of a Respect & Safeguarding Sub Group Committee with the aim of promoting both Respect and Safeguarding in grassroots affiliated football.
Initiatives include the delivery of a Respect Education workshop which is interactive to include a quiz on the laws of the game and expected behaviours from all participants and spectators, with educational video clips presented along with best practice information.
The presentation is one hour in duration and available to any Hampshire FA affiliated club.
With another close-to-capacity crowd expected for Pompey’s next game, the visit of Yeovil represents a great opportunity to publicise and promote the Respect programme to the thousands of people present.
Hampshire FA Chief Executive, Neil Cassar, said: ‘Hampshire FA is committed to eliminating bad behaviour detrimental to the grassroots game and fully supports and implements The FA’s Respect programme in all areas.
‘I would like to thank Yeovil Town and Portsmouth for their willingness to support the programme.’
