The visitors missed a number of chances in the second half but comfortably held onto their lead.

A first-half double from Alfie Lis set Horndean on their way to a 3-1 victory over Amesbury Town at Five Heads Park.

Lis gave the hosts a dream start with a goal after just four minutes.

Amesbury levelled midway through the first period but Michael Birmingham's Deans restored their lead five minutes later.

Louis Castles made an explosive burst down the wing and crossed for Lis to score with a half-volley.

Substitute Will Codling sealed the win with a strike from long-range in the final minute.

Horndean host Hamble Club in the next round.

Petersfield Town held their nerve to beat premier division out Christchurch 5-4 on penalties at Love Lane.

Harry Giles struck in the 33rd minute to give the Rams a 1-0 lead at half-time.

The home side were unlucky not to extend their lead when they hit the woodwork seven minutes into the second period.

Christchurch made the most of that let off and bagged a 62nd-minute equaliser.

Baffins Milton Rovers won 2-1 at Ringwood Town to earn an away tie at Fawley in the next round.

Fareham Town visit  Folland Sports for the second time in a week in the Wessex League Cup tonight (7.45pm).

The Reds are aiming to repeat their 4-2 success in the Hampshire Senior Cup meeting.
