Portsmouth boss won't push title-winner out the door

Danny Rose will not be pushed out of the Pompey exit door before the loan window closes.

Kenny Jackett reiterated he's more than happy for the midfielder to stay and fight for a place in his team.

But the Blues boss is open to allowing Rose to leave before the window closes at 5pm tomorrow, if there's an offer the player likes.

That has yet to happen, however, as time ticks down to the deadline.

Jackett said: '˜We haven't had an enquiries for his services as yet, but Danny's not someone who's been pushing to get out.

'˜He's a great lad to have around and, in terms of the midfield area, I wouldn't hesitate to call on him.

'˜If something outstanding comes it very much depends on what the player feels. He deserves that respect.'

Adam May and Louis Dennis are other players currently on the fringes who Jackett could consider loaning out but the manager knows they could be quickly called upon.

He added: '˜The ones who haven't quite been in the 18, the two or three, can sometimes feel very vulnerable if they are not in the squad for a while.

'˜Adam May hasn't been and Louis Dennis sometimes, maybe once or twice. Two maybe three lads (out of the squad) with everyone fit.

'˜As a manager you don't worry about that because at any one time there can be two or three on the treatment table. Then you around about bang on for numbers.

'˜We'll see what comes up before the deadline but I'm not pushing for people to go.' Â
