'A class-act of a gentleman... football differences aside, get well soon' - Portsmouth fans rally around manager Kenny Jackett following announcement

A statement released by the club on Monday said the Blues boss ‘will not be in attendance at matches or training sessions following a medical procedure that will require a short period of rest and recuperation’ from Thursday.

Assistant manager Joe Gallen will operate as caretaker manager in the meantime, with no timescale in place for his return.

Fourth-placed Pompey are currently embroiled in a promotion push and travel to Bristol Rovers tomorrow night.

However many fans believe football pales into insignificance at such times and have wished Jackett a speedy recovery.

Has always been a classy person no matter what stick he has taken.

Never hides or makes excuses and I remember even after the abuse he took at Wycombe and Wimbledon away he still came and talked to supporters.
