The Blues have hit a mid-season slump that’s resulted in them dropping into fifth spot in the table.

Kenny Jackett's side have lost four of the their past seven games and head into the Kassam Road encounter following successive defeats to Bristol Rovers and Blackpool.

As things stand, Pompey are yet again heading for the play-offs and need a swift turnaround if they’re to clinch automatic promotion.

A moment of quality and a world-class save

That was the difference between Pompey and Oxford tonight.

Harvey White's 48th-minute winner was a superbly-taken header from a pinpoint Callum Johnson cross.

And what about that save from Craig MacGillivray at the end?! The keeper was forced into action three times in stoppage-time but his last save from Elliott Moore was by far the best.

Oxford 0 Pompey 1

That is ridiculous from Craig MacGillivray. In the dying embers, Moore climbs high to meet a cross and his header loops towards the top corner, only for MacGillivray to backpeddle and tip clear!

Another huge MacGilllivray save! Pompey fail to clear a long ball and Shodipo bursts through but the keeper is quick off his line!

Anthony Forde cracks a long-range effort that forces Craig MacGillivray into a fine save

Ryan Williams back to his feet but it looked to be a head injury he sustained.

Brandon Barker bursts down the left again and sends in a cross for Josh Ruffels, whose tame effort is blocked by Rasmus Nicolaisen
