Andy Cannon recalled for Barnsley clash as Portsmouth make three FA Cup changes
Andy Cannon is recalled to Pompey’s side for the FA Cup visit of Barnsley.
The midfielder represents one of three changes to the team which won 1-0 at Bolton last weekend.
He returns to the side along with Ben Close and Ryan Williams, the pair also starting the midweek win over Scunthorpe in the Leasing.com Trophy.
Making way are Ellis Harrison and Marcus Harness, who drop to the bench, while Cameron McGeehan is unable to play against his parent club.
The changes mean John Marquis pushes up into the lone attacking role following four goals in five matches, while Cannon serves in the number 10 role.
Meanwhile, James Bolton has recovered from an injury scare to retain his place at right-back as Jackett resists the urge to bring fit-again Ross McCrorie back.
McCrorie, who returned to Blues training on Thursday after rehabilitating at Rangers, is not in the squad, along with Brett Pitman and Paul Downing.
Meanwhile, former Pompey player Conor Chaplin is named in Barnsley’s starting XI.
The summer recruit from Coventry has scored 10 goals this season, while was named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for December.
Pompey: Bass, Bolton, Burgess, Raggett, Seddon, Close, Naylor, Williams, Cannon, Curtis, Marquis.
