He’ll not be part of the squad that travels to Birmingham City’s St Andrew’s stadium for the fourth v fifth meeting after picking up a glute problem in training last week.

The attacking midfielder sat out Saturday’s trip to Tranmere after starting the Blues’ past three games.

However, with the 23-year-old expected to report back to traning on Thursday, he could be available for Saturday’s home game against Shrewsbury.

Striker Oli Hawkins will be back for the trip to the Sky Blues, though.

The giant front man picked up a head injury in last week’s reserves trip to Exeter but is deemed fit enough to be considered for the Coventry game.

‘Oli Hawkins will be with us as well after getting a bang on the head last week against Exeter.

‘He’s fit and available, but Andy Cannon won’t make it.

‘His estimated training day is Thursday which we hope will make him available for Shrewsbury on Saturday.’
