The Addicks don’t know the extent of the injury, with the striker sent for a scan on Thursday.

Influential defender Ryan Inniss remains out with a quad injury but there’s better news on Akin Famewo.

The centre-back has been out with an ankle injury but could return to face Pompey, alongside on-loan Chelsea left-back Ian Maatsen, who was rested for the midweek game against Swindon.

Jack Whatmough is suspended after Pompey failed to overturn his red card against Lincoln in midweek.

Ben Close, meanwhile, has been added to the Blues’ injury list.

The midfielder, who wasn’t involved in Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat at the hands of Lincoln, has a hamstring injury and will be out for a couple of weeks.

He joins fellow hamstring victim Paul Downing in the treatment and Alex Bass.

Bass was initially ruled out of Pompey’s FA Cup trip to Bristol City on January 10 with a dead leg and has since been unavailable.

However, it’s now emerged he suffered a stress fracture to his fibula – an injury which could see him out until the end of February.

New goalkeeping arrival, Lewis Ward, is expected to take Duncan Turnbull’s place on the bench.

Predicted line-up

Craig MacGillivray, Callum Johnson, Sean Raggett, Rasmus Nicolaisen, Charlie Daniels, Ryan Williams, Tom Naylor, Andy Cannon, Ronan Curtis, John Marquis, Marcus Harness. Subs: Lewis Morgan, James Bolton, Lee Brown, Harvey White, George Byers, Michael Jacobs, Ellis Harrison.
