We’re getting to that time of the year when clubs announce the players they’re retaining and releasing.
The coronavirus crisis has preventing the majority of clubs from doing so, although most in Scotland and several in England have stated the players they’re letting depart.
We’ve picked out the free agents that Pompey could take a liking to...
1. Bright Enobakhare
An exciting talent who highly impressed at Fratton Park on loan at Coventry last season. The forward has been released by Wolves and worked under Kenny Jackett while he was in charge at Molineux. Photo: David Rogers
2. Tommy Smith
The centre-back was linked with Pompey in January before signing a short-term deal with Sunderland. Smith has said he has options from the UK and abroad after being released by the Black Cats. Photo: Stu Forster
3. Calvin Miller
The left-back didn't get much of a look in at the Scottish champions and has been out injured since September. Nevertheless, he's still only 22 and his best days are very much in front. Photo: Ian MacNicol
4. Andy Halliday
The utility man slipped down the pecking order at Rangers and has been released. Having played in the Championship with Middlesbrough and Blackpool, it’s level he can certainly perform at. He’s also in the prime years of his career and would add experience and leadership. Photo: Mark Runnacles
