Now they have reunited with Sean Raggett.
And the pair are eager to pick up where they left off by inspiring the no-nonsense 27-year-old to scale new heights at Fratton Park.
Plucked from National League Dover in August 2016, Raggett’s maiden season at Lincoln earned a move to the Championship the following summer.

And they are keen to once again work with him on the training pitch.
Danny Cowley said: ‘Sean’s an incredible competitor. I have been lucky enough to work with some really good resilient, robust boys and he is right up there, let me tell you.
‘We are going to work really hard here, we have an ambition to play higher in this division and our aim is to make the players better.

‘Sean made huge, huge strides in our last time together. We brought him from non-league and sold him to Norwich in 12 months, before getting him back on loan as part of the deal.
‘Our aim is to have the same impact on him this time that we did back then.
‘There are some areas for Sean to work on and improve, but he also has some super strengths that he will continue to work on.

Now in his second season with the Blues, Raggett has totalled 80 appearances and seven goals.
He is also an ever-present this term for a club which is presently seventh in League One.
Nicky Cowley added: ‘I actually said to Sean on Friday, it will be great to spend some time on him now to show what we have also picked up since we last worked together.
‘We really look forward to that.’
