Denver Hume handed Portsmouth bow against Charlton - but fellow Sunderland arrival not included

Although fellow new recruit Aiden O’Brien has not signed in time to be considered for the match-day 18 in the televised contest.

Hume, a £200,000 signing from Sunderland last week, comes in at left wing-back in place of Reeco Hackett.

He wears the number 3, vacated by Lee Brown on Friday, among three changes to the side which lost at Sunderland.

Shaun Williams and George Hirst are given recalls, with Ronan Curtis and Louis Thompson joining Hackett on the bench.

Meanwhile, Ollie Webber, recruited from Crystal Palace last week, serves as back-up to Gavin Bazunu and among the substitutes.

The bench also continues Michael Jacobs, despite the winger suffering illness and unable to training for the last week.
