According to journalist Uri Levy, Al Fahim is acting as an intermediary for a group from Abu Dhabi interested in taking over the Israeli club.

Although he will participate talks, he is not investing personally into the deal.

Pompey fans will recall Al Fahim’s disastrous 41-day spell in charge of Pompey during a period of constant crisis for the club.

He arrived in August 2009 promising a £50m investment, yet by October had departed, with Ali Al Farag becoming owner.

In September 2012, he returned as part of a Middle East consortium interested in taking the Blues out of administration.

However, that never materialised into a meaningful bid, with Al Fahim unable to open an English bank account to convince administrator Trevor Birch that he possessed proof of funds.
