Lee Bradbury has bolstered his defensive options by bringing in Accrington Stanley defender Will Wood on a three-month loan.
The young defender goes straight into the Hawks team for today’s National League game against Gateshead at Westleigh Park.
The Burgess Hill-based player spent some time on trial at Pompey at the start of the year, with Kenny Jackett looking to add to his left-back options.
He signed a one-year deal with Stanley in the summer after being released by Premier League Southampton.
He came through the ranks at St Mary's, playing for their under-21s while still qualified for the under-18 side.
Wood represents the second new arrival at Westleigh Park in the past 24 hours.
Matt Bradley signed on loan yesterday from West Bromwich Albion as the Hawks look to climb out of the National League’s bottom four.
