The News understands that the Blues head coach, along with his brother Nicky, will stay at Fratton Park for the long haul - even if a place in the play-offs isn’t reached this season.

And that has gone down with the Fratton faithful, with many believing the Cowleys deserve time to stamp their authority on the club.

Here’s a selection of the views which have been shared on Facebook and Twitter...

Harry Wood: Good, keep the Cowley Bros on for another season or two and let them rebuild for the summer. Very happy with this, PUP!

Chris Hawkins: They need time and maybe money to build their own team.

@HarryGardner26: Fans love them, a great record when they have their own team, should get a pre season and a full season as a min.

@FinlayJohn93: Great decision. Modern day coaches who have fantastic ideas! Biggest job they've had, which I have no doubt they'll absolutely 100 per cent give there all and won’t make up excuses if it goes wrong.

Kev Davison: Happy with that, they’re good mangers Definitely worth a season.

@UpTheMoos: We saw Cowleyball in the first few games then the team went back to Jackettball.

Hopefully that will all change with some cowley players in.

Martin Pibworth: Yes happy with this, give them a chance and see.

Mel Clarke: I’m so pleased about that.

@95K1ll: I'd give him two seasons to be fair, will be challenging for a fresh team to hit automatic spots next season, imagine if he had the 2019 squad.

Tony Saunders: Good. Hope they get permission to get rid of the dead wood players which the club are full of.

Paul Carden: Too early. Keep to what was agreed.

@BenButler7: I felt this would be the case considering Danny’s involvement in hiring Miller.

I’m personally happy with the decision and look forward to seeing their clear out this summer.

Richard Carter: Give him a year. Promotion next season or you're out.

Brett James: Love this! Drain the swamp - players and backroom room staff.

Let them have a fresh canvas and a 3-year contract, and I believe we’ll get promoted in that time.

@JasonManninjg: No brainer for me. Good guys to have at the helm. Give them time and I think they’ll succeed.

@bud2773: In hindsight they should have been brought in earlier for me.

But I’m glad they will be given time to build their own team now!
