Pompey travel to Ipswich Town’s Portman Road for the second time in as many months today – only on this occasion important league points are up for grabs.

Kenny Jackett’s side returned home from their last meeting to Suffolk in November with an FA Cup win that was secured after Sean Raggett’s extra-time winner.

But with a chance to leapfrog the third-placed hosts in the League One table and keep pace with current leaders Hull, the Blues will be determined to add to the Tractor Boys’ recent woes.

Despite sitting a point and place above Pompey in the table, and beating Plymouth last time out, Paul Lambert’s injury-hit side have been struggling lately.

They’ll be delighted that fans will be back inside Portman Road this afternoon for the first time since March.

But with unrest growing among sections of the Ipswich fan base, their presence could be a hindrance if the Blues seize the initiative.
