Jack Whatmough handed Portsmouth recall for League One return at Fleetwood

Jack Whatmough has been recalled to Pompey’s side for the resumption of their League One campaign.

The centre-half appeared as a half-time substitute at Bristol City in the FA Cup last weekend after recovering from coronovarius.

And he replaces Rasmus Nicolaisen at Fleetwood this afternoon – just as he did at the break in the 2-1 Ashton Gate defeat.

That represents the sole change to Kenny Jackett’s side which lined up against the Championship outfit.

With Ronan Curtis still missing having contracted coronavirus and his self-isolation scheduled to end on Sunday, the Blues boss was not tempted to change his team.

Also missing from the squad are Alex Bass (calf) and Paul Downing (hamstring).

Duncan Turnbull is the substitute keeper, with James Bolton back on the seven-man bench following a recent absence.

Pompey: MacGillivray, Johnson, Whatmough, Raggett, Brown, Harness, Cannon, Naylor, Jacobs, Williams, Marquis.

Subs: Turnbull, Close, Hiwula, Harrison, Mnoga, Bolton, Nicolaisen.
