Whatmough will partner Sean Raggett in the centre of Kenny Jackett’s defence, with Christian Burgess on the bench.

There is also a recall for Gareth Evans, who skippers the team having failed to make the match-day 18 at Bolton on Saturday.

Also coming into the starting XI are Craig MacGillivray, Ryan Williams, Ben Close and Brandon Haunstrup.

However, once again there is no place in the squad for Brett Pitman and Paul Downing.
