Hide AdWigan have witnessed a mass exodus since news of their move into administration was announced in July, with former Blues boss Paul Cook among those who opted to walk away.
Despite their off-the-field problems, Sheridan led the division's new boys to their first League One win of the season at Fratton Park on September 26 – Pompey’s first league defeat on home turf since their 3-2 loss at the hands of Peterborough in April 2019.
That 2-1 reverse ended a sequence of 22 home games without defeat, with Kenny Jackett’s side since losing two further third-tier games at PO4 – against Doncaster and Charlton respectively.
Sheridan, who was on a month-to-month contract at Wigan, moves to Swindon after Richie Wellens swapped the County Ground for League Two Salford earlier this month.
