A potential solution is to give Hiwula his first League One start since October 23, 2019, when he lined-up for Coventry against Fleetwood.

On that occasion, the forward was withdrawn at half-time in 2-1 success, although failed to start for the Sky Blues in league action again.

That could possibly allow a recall for Ellis Harrison to partner John Marquis up front.

Certainly it’s a selection dilemma for Kenny Jackett to mull over ahead of the Home Park clash with Ryan Lowe’s side (7.45pm).

And the Blues boss admits Hiwula impressed him on his full debut in Tuesday night’s 1-0 defeat to West Ham under-21s in the Papa John’s Trophy.

He said: ‘I thought Jordy played really well against West Ham.

‘There was a great save from Nathan Trott in the first half, when he went past people. If you give him the service and get balls down the side he has pace and control.

‘I did think in the first half he showed flashes and glimpses of real ability.

‘It’s hard to break into our team at the moment, but he has the ability to do it, he’s a good player.

‘I’m pleased he’s here, though. With one or two injuries and players out, he’s not far off it. He has been substitute every game which he has been here.

‘Jordy’s a good finisher and he has pace down the sides. There’s a lot to like about him and he has fitted in very well.’
