The deals of Sean Raggett, Cameron McGeehan, Steve Seddon and Ross McCrorie are scheduled to end next month.

The arrangements which brought the quartet to Fratton Park would have allowed them to remain until the campaign’s conclusion.

However, the Premier League and Football League are now required to extend their seasons, throwing the entire loan market into chaos.

According to Jackett, talks are presently taking place aimed at reaching an agreement – and he believes there there will be a positive resolution.

Pompey’s boss said: ‘Nothing has been agreed, but I would imagine the general principle would be that loan players can continue. I do think that is going to be the case.

‘I think there will be a general rule that, up to a certain point in the calendar, loan players will continue at their particular club.

‘There will obviously have to be a cut-off point when it starts to overrun next season.

‘While there’s nothing put down in writing at the moment with that, I would imagine each individual would have to make their own minds up as well.

‘I’d think all of our loan players will want to complete the season with us. It’s not as if any of them are necessarily out of the team or haven't got a chance of playing.

‘Then we’ll see what the situation is after that.’

Adam May has returned to the Blues after Boreham Wood’s National League season was scrapped, while Luke McGee remains with Bradford.
