Kenny Jackett gives thoughts on Birmingham's Steve Seddon being a Portsmouth player next season

Kenny Jackett hasn’t given up hope of Steve Seddon being a Pompey player next season.

And the Blues boss is refusing to rule out Fratton futures for the quartet currently on loan at PO4.

Ross McCrorie, Cameron McGeehan and Sean Raggett have all arrived on temporary deals this term.

There’s been a clamour from supporters to see the 22-year-old sign permanently, while Seddon has repeatedly stated a desire to play regular first-team football after being frozen out at Birmingham.

But the potential of that happening has been muddied by Jackett ruling out long-term deals and paying significant fees in the wake of the coronavirus crisis.

The Pompey boss isn’t writing off finding a way to get Seddon, or the other loanees, back next season, however.

Jackett said: ‘We’ll see. All of the loans have made good impressions and are committed to completing the season, should we be allowed

‘Where that goes with their parent clubs is in the bigger picture. We will have to wait and see.

‘I like all four of them and they’ve all done well.

‘I do think they’ve shown an appetite to play for Portsmouth which is a big thing.

‘Where their futures lie in terms of next season is very difficult to tell.

‘For us, we have to wait and see what the financial landscape looks like moving forward.

‘For all the parents clubs of those players I’m sure they will be saying the same, too.’
