Last call for your favourite Portsmouth boss vote

A few weeks ago I began asking you to tell me the identity of your favourite Pompey manager of all-time.

Now it’s time for a final call for votes from anyone yet to get involved.

This was originally going to be my big season-ending subject here and in my programme column View From The North Stand, with the top boss being named in the week of the final game or even to coincide with a play-off semi-final.

That idea went out of the window and even if Pompey do get to play their remaining home games (which I doubt very much) we won’t all be there buying programmes.

But as I’ve said before, having no actual live football matches to talk about is not an issue that affects my columns very much as they’re rarely what I write about!

So, undeterred, I am pressing on with the manager vote and I’m shortly going to draw this reader poll to a close.

But I’m giving you another fortnight (or just under) to vote for the man who’s perhaps given you the best memories during his reign in the Fratton hotseat.

At present I’ve had votes cast for 13 different managers, three of whom are way out in front and the only ones in with a realistic chance of winning, unless there’s a late change in voting patterns that the Electoral Commission would want to investigate.

Two in particular have been almost neck and neck at the front of the field from the start.

The deadline for votes is 9am on Friday, May 8, and I’ll get the abacus out after that to see who your No1 Blues manager is.

There are two ways to vote – you can email [email protected] or tweet me@stevebone1 – and you need to say who gets your vote and why. Ironic votes will be rooted out!
