Maddison to Charlton... Ipswich boost forward line... Blackpool recruitment continues - how Portsmouth's rivals have strengthened in past seven days

The past seven days has seen plenty of movement in the League One transfer market, with several clubs strengthening their ranks before the window closes on October 16.

Pompey didn’t add to their squad number despite being on the lookout for a new midfielder.

Yet Blackpool remained as busy as ever, while Charlton ended Marcus Maddison’s wait for a new club by snapping up the midfielder on a free transfer.

Accrington Stanley manager John Coleman has signed teenage Chelsea midfielder Jon Russell on a season-long loan. The 19-year-old has played five EFL Trophy games for the Blues' academy side, but has never played a league game.
