Donohue arrived at the Blues from Chesterfield for an undisclosed fee in August 2017, penning a two-year deal.

He made 48 appearances for Kenny Jackett’s side, displaying his flexibility by operating in both left-back and central-midfield roles.

However, just 13 of his outings arrived during this campaign’s League One promotion push.

The 25-year-old has been hampered by a number of different injuries, as well as suffering from glandular fever at the start of the season.

Donohue is currently sidelined with an ongoing groin problem that will rule him out of the play-off semi-final second leg against Sunderland.

No great lose. I can only think of one decent think he did. that was the pass to Green against Norwich in the FAC this season. I wish him luck and sucess at his next club. All the best Dion.

I will forever remember him for that peach of a pass at Norwich. World class! I wish him well and it is a pity he didn’t get more of a chance with us. It may come back to haunt us one day (as is so often the case!)

@LinW_Pompey

I’m sad to see him go, has the potential to be a really good player but needs to stay injury free. Very best of luck Dion.

@Read8911

One of the biggest ‘nearly’ players we’ve had. Nearly very decent but just lacks a few things to make him anything other than average League 1 unfortunately.
