Saturday’s 2-0 loss at the Posh saw the Blues drop from third to sixth in the League One promotion race.

But tonight’s game against the Cod Army, who sit below Pompey in the table on goal difference, provides the opportunity for Jackett’s men to instantly reinstate their Championship credentials.

They could potentially move up to second in the table if they can maintain their unbeaten home form in the division.

And Jackett believes his players will have quickly got their Peterborough off day out of their system as they turn their focus to the challenge of facing a Fleetwood side unbeaten in their past 11 outings.

When asked if their a potential of a Posh hangover, the manager said: ‘We hope not.

‘We hope that we can play better than we did Saturday.

‘I don't think we were necessarily at our best. Obviously, the front two for Peterborough have quite rightly got the headlines - I understand that.

‘But I still thought for our own performance, we are capable of doing more and doing better.

‘We talked about it (the performance) – we talk about it all the time and also looking forward.

‘But looking forward and saying: "what do we need to do?", "what do we need to do more of?"

‘Obviously, tonight is another game, another opportunity and a chance, and you have to move forward and try to get the balance of your game right.

‘We'll need a big performance to beat a Fleetwood side in good form.’
