It also had Norwich fans celebrating as the former Canaries defender delivered a killer blow to their arch rivals’ Cup hopes.

No doubt all Carrow Road fans take great delight in seeing their neighbours slip up, no matter the occasion.

But in this instance, they had extra reasons to be cheerful given their old-boy’s telling contribution and the nature of the match-winner.

Raggett, who made two appearances for Norwich following his move from Lincoln in 2017, admitted he was in an offside position when he tapped home his goal with 111 minutes on the clock.

His goal, along with match referee Andy Haines’ performance, didn’t go down well with Ipswich boss Paul Lambert as he took stock of his side’s defeat.

However, Canaries fans were in no mood to be sympathetic as they chirped away on Twitter to celebrate Raggett’s input into the Blues’ win at Portman Road.

Already delighted with his side’s 1-0 win over Swansea in the Championship, @JField97P said: ‘Massive win today against very tough opposition. Just gutted we can not be there to support & celebrate with the team. Huge win for Kings Lynn to send them through to the next round of the FA Cup. Oh & Sean Raggett scored against the scum. Lovely Jubbly.’

@matty6345 added: ‘OMG i've only just seen that @SeanRaggett got the winning goal. This is absolutely amazing.’

Joining in, @UncleWenry tweeted: ‘Not only did Norwich win but I checked my phone after my shower to see Sean Raggett scored an 111 min winner against the scum pahahaha.’

Meanwhile, @alfce4 used the hashtag #OnceACanaryAlwaysACanary when he commented: ‘@SeanRaggett Great finish to your match today. I bet it was more satisfying getting the winner against your old clubs biggest rival.’

@StewCB didn’t want to gloat too much as he wrote: ‘Shame’ accompanied by a smirking face emoji.

@norwich_central adopted a similar approach, saying: ‘Love to see it @SeanRaggett. #ncfc.’

Finally, @1985ACarpenter said: ‘And Sean Raggett scored the winner as well!’

Raggett is currently in his second season with Pompey after initially arriving on loan from Norwich last season.

The centre-back made 38 appearances, scoring twice, last term – prompting Kenny Jackett to bring him in on a permanent basis during the summer.

This season, the 27-year-old has missed just one game for the Blues – the EFL Trophy win at Southend as the manager made wholesale changes to his starting XI.
