Pompey progressed to the second round of the competition on penalties, with substitute keeper Craig MacGillivray saving three of the hosts’ efforts in a 3-1 shoot-out win.

The game finished 3-3 after 90 minutes, with Ronan Curits, Gareth Evans (penalty) and John Marquis all netting as the Blues struggled to keep pace with their League Two opponents.
