The Blues will finally be back in action after the best part of four months when Karl Robinson’s men visit Fratton Park on Friday.

Kenny Jackett’s men set out their promotion ambition more than a year ago after falling short last season.

That aim is still very much in the cards as Pompey stand just three games away from returning to the Championship since 2012.

The Blues have been boosted, of course, by Christian Burgess being available for the four-team tournament, despite the centre-back agreeing to join Belgian side Union Saint-Gilloise this summer.

While Jackett will have to replace the fans’ favourite in the transfer window, Burgess remains fully committed to the cause as he aims to bow out at Fratton Park on a high.

We’ll be bringing you all the latest updates ahead of the meeting with Oxford throughout the day...
