The 19-year-old won Pompey’s second penalty which Alfie Stanley converted.

Jones-Thomas trained with Kenny Jackett’s troops at their Roko training base today.

And he will be informed whether he’ll be handed a permanent stay on the south coast within the next 24 hours.

Assistant-manager Joe Gallen told The News: ‘He's come in through an agent, really.

‘I wasn't at the Totton game but he played there and then trained a little bit with us today.

‘I think we will end up making a decision about Mason tomorrow.

‘The player development side and bringing younger players in is pretty important for us, especially with the salary cap side of things.

‘Like every player, if they have the potential or deemed good enough now then we will judge it on their merits rather than thinking about two or three years from now.

‘We'll judge players on their merits and think can they get into our team within the next six months? That's the aim.

‘We're going to have make a decision tomorrow.

‘Kenny was at the Totton game and the main thing is judge them on how they played in a game.

‘By all accounts, I think he did pretty well so let's see what the plans are.’

Jones-Thomas made eight appearances for Swansea under-23s in Premier League 2 last season.
