Portsmouth begin fan refunds for tickets bought for EFL Trophy final against Salford

Pompey have begun the process of refunding fans who purchased tickets for the postponed 2020 EFL Trophy final against Salford.

The Blues have confirmed that money will be automatically returned to the card used to buy tickets for the fixture, with the process expected to take until the end of February.

Any supporter who cannot be refunded automatically will be contacted by the club.

The final was originally scheduled to be played on Sunday, April 5, 2020, with more than 50,000 Pompey fans due to attend.

Now new date has been set by the EFL, with fans remaining locked out of grounds because of coronavirus.

Confirming the beginning of the refund process, a statement on the Pompey website reads: ‘Ticket refunds are now being processed for the postponed 2019/20 EFL Trophy final against Salford.

‘Fans will be notified by email once their refund has been processed.

‘Any supporter whose refund cannot be completed automatically will be contacted by a member of Pompey’s ticketing team to confirm alternative card details.

‘It is anticipated that, due to the sheer volume of refunds that have to be processed, this will be completed by the end of February.

Portsmouth Football Club would like to thank supporters for their continued patience during the refund process.

‘Further discussions will take now place with the EFL and Salford City to arrange a new date for the match to take place.’
